Sharing some answers
Most of you are aware, but I got a few messages and figure it`s easier to answer on the Board.
Many members ask me why the different total numbers at the end of the day.
Not all have acess to this info.
As you all know there are many Exchanges with the Main one being the TSX.
The Big Banks and some Institutions own most of the others, specially Alpha and Omega.
When you put a Bid at a set price it may be directed to any other Exchange at the discretion of the Broker doing the transaction (mostly Banks).
You may see the transaction done but not showing,and that`s the reason, it could have been directed to another Exchange.
But at the end of the day the market price is set by the trades done on the TSX,even though some of the Exchanges may trade at higher prices.
All level IIs only show the TSX transactions and totals unless you pay extra and get them all.
Enclosed examples below.
The SIO V ATS,gives you all the totals with the highest last trade.
Then starting with the TSX totals and all the other ones below,you notice some higher trades and some lower ones,but again the TSX determining the Market price.

You can also see on the Bids and Ask board the sizes and where the blocks are, the 'V' meaning the TSX,where the majority of Bids and Asks always prevail.
The example below it`s from today,notice on the ASK for 0.29, the total is 350,800, the TSX has 272.300 on 10 orders, CHI-X has 2,500 on three orders, CX2-H has 45,000 on five orders, and TMX Select-E has 31.000 on three orders.
If you add all the orders and totals you should get the same numbers as the ALL column, and the same with the BID column.
