I was thinking
I was thinkingAnd that's not always a good thing.
GPS. Road
1 expensive unit for each Tractor Unit.
1 '' unit for each trailer and or Container Unit. In the latter case would have to be sea worthy
Goods inside for a full load from point A to point B not too many problems unless Trailer unit be stolen somewhere during the trip and goods unloaded before authorities can react.
When it comes to split loads and tracking those loads from their origin to destination then major problems occur.
Most trailer shipments are not by any means full loads rather they are a mix of all kinds of items for different customers along the route. GPS units small enough to track each customers shipment even on one truck nerver mind container i think is stretching the imagination too far. You could need as many as 10 or more per load not counting the tractor trailer units themselves.
Tracking the tractor and trailer simple enough, for logistic purposes. Tracking the valuable commodities inside if destined as many are for more than one location is another matter.
Feed back please. Thoughts whatever as I clutch at my straw.
Definately not cost effective
