Timing is everything in this industry, and the opportunity window on these deals must be rather limited.
bob: As I'm sure you know, at least moderately high inflation is already here. Not only are the numbers grossly fudged - let's be honest and call them LIES - but the definition of inflation is money printing. A rise in prices is an effect of inflation, not inflation itself. And it appears that high, long term, sustained inflation (financial repression) - if not hyperinflation - is mathematically inevitable at this point...Although there may be a severe collapse in demand (and prices) initially, historically prices for commodities will go up much faster than input costs. (And don't forget, SM&E is invested in the most important input by far: oil.)
