Comments: They're still using 4.50/mcf as the base case for nat gas when current prices are around half of that.  A couple of projects have been delayed and now only the Gordon Creek gas project is coming online this year.  Since the warrants are expiring this year, decent chance they expire worthless. 2013 will be a BIG year for SND with ALL of the remaining projects/upgrades ...more

The loan is secured by the coal facility RDA purchased.  With respect to the mine, I agree, it's not looking good.  That being said, likely it has some value and SND, as a result of the clause in the agreement stipulating a guaranteed payback within 5 years, would be entitled to some recovery of capital.  In fact they may be first in line before vendors, which would be nice.

In case of bankruptcy, Sandstorm IR said they had senior security on their deals and felt confident that they could extract value with their security position. It can be viewed at: https://www.sandstormmetalsandenergy.com/s/Home.asp An interesting new chart has added (Page 15) which reflects how increases in commodity prices (ie: QEI, QEII, QEIII etc) will significantly impact cashflow projections. The presentation also includes ...more

Novadx now producing 130,000 ton/yr with contracts set for 170$/t+. Sandstorm pulls off 25% of that at 75$. Novadx reported last week that SND received their payment of 300k+ for the first month of production. Basically it's 32,500t/yr for SND and they make a profit of about 100$/t. NDX has commitments for payments of 3M$ this year. Mid year ndx's second mine (Rex) is set for production at ...more

"They're still using 4.50/mcf as the base case for nat gas when current prices are around half of that." That's the glass half empty side. On the flip side, they are using lower than current market prices for the others. They're using $2.50/lb copper. Current copper price has risen back to $3.80 from recent lows of $3. Copper will be very profitable. $160 met coal is expected ...more

The 4.50 price could come from hedges in place for awhile.  It is hard to believe that SND depends entirely on the spot price.
