I love digging deeper into things.  And on this board I can think out loud.  Bounce ideas off other like minded people.  I love doing it and no problem.  A reasonable part of my retirement is banking on SND , SAND, SLW, FNV, RGL.  All NSR and streaming companies.  So it's in my best interest to know what I am talking about.  And If I don't know listen to ...more

Total agreement, doomz. Especially your concluding statement re maintaining "our rational and [mostly] geopolitically safe" game plan!...Speaking of probabilities, considering the investor doubts they must have known it would create, I think the probability is HIGH that NW & Co. spent more time and DD vetting this deal than almost any other they've signed. Part of me thinks they didn't spend much time vetting this deal, and I mean that without any derision.  I think this is what would have stood out for them:   - Rio Tinto, a world class mining company, is the operator - in two - three years time they plan to process enough ore to earn SND ~$13 million and SSL ~$37 million   I think Nolan looked at that from SND's perspective ...more

Elmo...Go take a look at Countrygent's comments on the SSL board (if you haven't already) and I think you will agree that Nolan & Co. must have - or at least should have - spent a great deal of DD time on this deal. I've been persuaded - by you among others - that it was a good decision, if a bit of a toss of the dice. But the issue isn't the potential reward, it's the ...more

Zen.... You hit the nail on the head with your final statement below.  I think management gave fair advance warning of its new direction. Those who are uncomfortable with it should simply look for another place
