Steel prices stay elevated

For q1 Stelco did about 200 million ebitda on price of steel of 959.  For q2 . Q3 and q4 average is around $1500 so one can see how you get to 2 billion ebitda for 2021.  What's ...more

Sorry but you're comparing apples to oranges that way. Bank stocks generate regular earnings/dividends, not cyclical like Stelco. Also you have to factor in market cap / shares outstanding etc ...more

It's strange to compare things. Watched the banks report. CIBC made over $3 a share this past Q. Stock is at about $140. Stelco expected to make nearly $4 a share next quarter, and we hope stock ...more

Only reason if if steels are at a top.  Credit Suisse says we are however other steel stocks Nucor,  US steel and others are  all powering higher based on infrastructure bill and still ...more

According to Thompson-Reuters, Stelco is expected to earn 3.825 this quarter, and 4.428 third quarter. That's $8.313 per share. At $33 a share Mr. Kestenbaum can quite easily pay his union dues if ...more

While our SP will take a bit of a hit this morning, that's a pretty impressive financing   given that we only crossed the $33.00 threshold for the first time 3 weeks ago. GLTA

With latest sale looks like kestenbaum is taking control of company.  Nicely played.  With steel futures holding strong well out into a year from now expect Stelco to generate crazy cash ...more
