Some companies

Some companiesSome companies are in a bad business segment butt hey rise to the occasion and do rather well.  Others have a fantastic business circumstance but fail miserably.

SWC falls into the latter category.  There is essentially no competition outside troubled South Africa, Zimbabwe and equally troubled Russia.  Yet for the last 5 years the comapany lost money.  Losing money over a 5 year stretch in a booming business takes some doing.  Yet they did it.  They stubbed their toe by diversifying into copper.  As a concept this may have been ok except for two things.  They paid way too much as "out of control" miners often do.  And they bought the property in Argentina.  Some choice.

Good grades good locations and high high commodity prices and yet they lose money over 5 years.

You could argue that they are the top failure in mining all things considered.   Management does not have confidence of analysts or investors.  No wonder
