Uranium Index Apr 14/vol to new high

14 April 2009

Merv's Daily Commentary, 14 Apr 2009

After The Close, 14 Apr 2009

The Merv’s Daily Uranium Index closed slightly higher by 0.55 points or 0.37%. There were 21 winners, 19 losers and 10 unchanged. Not a very positive day. The largest five stocks were mixed. Cameco lost 1.7%, First Uranium lost 0.5%, Paladin lost 0.6%, Uranium One gained 1.1% and USEC gained 3.0%. The best winner on the day was Denison Mines with a gain of 16.2% while the loser on the day was Laramide with a loss of 7.9%. Maybe I should include Denison in my yesterday’s list of stocks that are looking technically good. It has been acting quite strong these past few days so has some catching up to do but could be in its early stages of a reversal.

Nothing has changed with today’s action so I’ll just cop-out and refer you to yesterday’s commentary. That long term moving average line has still not reversed so it remains a watching game. One more thing, the volume indicator has now moved into new all time high territory.
