Improve emergency back-up systems
Improve emergency back-up systemsThe containment systems held up to the earthquake, but the back up cooling systems were knocked out by the tsunami. The emergency generators were out when the water from the tsunami made its way into the generators. One of the improvements that can be made right at the outset is to house the emergency generators which can withstand a tsunami and at the same time provide a protective oxygen intake. Also, longer lasting back-up battery that last at least 24 hours. Making the emergency back-up systems more robust would go a long way in everting future emergencies.
