Catching a falling knife
You have heard how it is not always a good idea to buy shares of a company athe stock price progressively falls.
That also applies to buybacks. Companies that buy back their own stock at a high and then continue to purchase as it drops can waste a whole lot of money. AAV has a rthree year plan to spend all their extra money buying in shares. So far they would have been a lot better to do nothing. If they still had that cash they could buy in double or more of the shares.
