Its Air Canada Vacations is a tour operator, which is engaged in developing, marketing, and distributing vacation travel packages in the outbound/inbound leisure travel market. Air Canada Rouge is Air Canada's leisure carrier.

AC has hedege their fuel, if you had done any research then you would have noticed that ticket price has not followed the same up tick as oil prices so clearly its not having same impact. Also airliners are flying a bit slower to conserve fuel as an example flight time between YYZ and YVR used to 4.25 hours now its closer to 5. From YVR to YYZ was under 4 hours and now its 4.33 hours. Also all flights are fully booked. Westjet buying Sunwing has only added expenses to Westjet. They gain market share by buying their competitor. Now Westjet will have to charge more to recover the money used to buy Sunwing. For AC their market share for vacation destinations hasn't changed. Kind of validates that Rouge must be eating into Westjet market.
