RE:AC becoming a monopoly

RE:AC becoming a monopoly

Westjet/Encore/Swoop is losing pilots to AC.  Pilots are quitting before, during and after training.  AC is hiring pilots from Jazz and from all of AC's competitors.  Pretty tough to keep your operation going when it takes a couple of months to train up your pilots. Also, WJ pilots are not very happy with the way the company is trying to whipsaw them using Swoop and Envore.  That is one of reasons they are losing pilots.

Sunwing, in an effort to keep their pilot wages down, had been hiring Temporary Foreign Workers (TFW) for pilots, but the government put the kibosh on that.

AC, so far, has no problem getting experienced pilots.  There are still enough willing to endure the abysmal patheticly low starting wages.  Rumours of the U.S. opening its borders to foreign pilots. If that happp, then AC might have a problem crewing the front end the planes.
