RE:I'm not sure if I did the right thing, but I did anyways...Indomitable, if you double $10,000 seven times you are over a million.  It doesn't meant that you actually need to double, but if you can take 10 or 20% a bunch of times it has the same effect.  But what happens if the stock goes up 10X like DGC (Detour Gold Corp)?  I like to retain some shares and buy extra so that I can "buy the story sell the news."

You said that you are studying.  I suggest you pick up a copy of Security Analysis by Benjamin Graham and David Dodd.  It is the most amazing read ever, and is what most of the investment courses these days are based upon.  It is the layman's guide for investors.

Just like in poker or chess, we all play the market differently.  Older people want less risk, there are day traders, buy-and-hold strategies, and everything in between.  I am patient, and might hold these shares the rest of my life.  This stock will likely pay dividends at some point, I might enjoy several splits, and it will be fun to attempt to accumulate more shares on the peaks and troughs.

Do not forget that there is always a bull market somewhere.  The trend is your friend, so don't get married to your stocks and try to see the whole picture.  What are you thinking not keeping your shares until next spring?  Pot is HOT!!!
