No one has bwnfoted from legalization as much as former officers and staffers and politicians themselves. So please lay off the low level dealers who sell dope. They actually provide a good product at an Affordable price,  something the government will never figure out. The dispensary weed sucks.

Those " dealers " you wish to lay off of are the same people who will sell hard drugs to minors to make a buck. They are a fact of life but don't really deserve the respect that your post implies. I don't think they believe in product recall should they suspect they sold you something that was tainted with some form of mold. You may be buying from an ok guy but that doesn't necessarily mean the bulk of dealers in MJ have safety concerns at the top of the list. Would you accept a medical drug system that had no controls? There are already plenty of horror stories of people purchasing prescription drugs over the internet and then finding the dosage or purity isn't what it was made out to be. That's what you get when you buy from the black market.

With legal pot you're paying for the safety standards that are built into every gram sold. To the millenials that's becoming increasingly important. As far as price competition, legal weed will never match the cost of growing a crop in the bush but as long as the LPs can get close then I'm convinced consumers will pay the difference in return for knowing where the weed came from and the conditions under which it was produced. Some people still will buy moonshine from the local dealer but we're talking about establishing a legal multi billion dollar industry geared towards the average consumer and for that you need government controls.
