I took some off early this year at two prices ...$2 and $2.60---felt bad at the time losing that extra move while many were still calling for an addition 200% or more but now I'm pleased I took some profits with which I am now rebuying those shares that I sold and more. Not saying this to pat myself on the back, just saying it might be a way to participate in the potential gains of microcaps with less risk.

One way to do it is to sell half your shares if the share price doubles from your initial purchase price. That way you get all your intitial investment back (excluding any brokerge / other fees you may pay), and what you see each day as the market value of your remaining shares from that point forward is all pure profit, so you can hold onto them for as long as you wish without worrying that you'll go from black to red in the stock.
