If it were to help with battery life though it might be worth it.

Keep in mind Silver and Copper tarnish/oxidize when exposed to O2 and H2O over time and loses conductivity because of it, where as Gold is much more corrosion resistant in the elements and holds its conductivity value.
Use depends on type and quality of application.
