Silver and copper are better electrical conductors than gold and copper is still much cheaper.
Keep in mind Silver and Copper tarnish/oxidize when exposed to O2 and H2O over time and loses conductivity because of it, where as Gold is much more corrosion resistant in the elements and holds its conductivity value.
Use depends on type and quality of application.
