Spoke to Aeroplan customer service last week

Spoke to Aeroplan customer service last week
I called for a flight related issue but I brought the topic of discussion to the Air Canada debacle. I asked the rep if the termination of the AC agreement in 2020 will mean an end to the star alliance group of airline companies lufhansa, swiss air, SAS, etc...and the rep didn't think so , we will have to wait and see. This was an ex AC employee who transitioned to Aimia and she thought that AC starting their own point system was ridiculous. The rep said something that made me think of a comment I read here...they said that the company is going forward in a modern way...Aeroplan will reflect what people are doing now in this digital age and where the trends point to for the future...I read on here Amazon....could it be? Imagine giving amazon customers access to airline travel....could be huge if they can pull it off.
