RE:RE:RE:RE:How come Aeromexico offer has not added to thisI was also confused when I first read that, but I guess Aeromexico feels that what they lose in value in their PLM shares, they gain in value by bringing the points program in house. They would exchange value in an inhouse program for the value of their PLM shares. Aeromexico's points program is what has the intrinsic value. Right now they hold that indirectly via PLM shares. Do they really lose a lot if they pull that program in house? And they have 12 years to make that transition.
But what it really does is allow them to try to squeeze Aimia out at a low price point now, when Aimia is having to decide on its future vis a vis Aeroplan.
It could also be a bluff. 12 years is a long time to reconsider that deicison.
