I am in the same boat as you and have ALA and VET that won't stop going down. I think the problem rests with how Canada and particular the Oil stock are viewed by investors expecially US investors.

ALA is a utility stock with some growth and a now stable dividend so other than outright fear,  
I don't get it.  These type of stocks should be held and added to in this environment and if
interest rates drop because of economic pressures,  then they become even more valuable as vehicles of safety and income.
