the trp/nova merger took place long before the 2008 financial adventure.

I remember the 2008 stock market crash. Before the crash I was interested in buying shares of Nova Corporation, an Alberfta ,gas transmission company that would later merge with TransCanada. The stock paid a good dividend and I thought it would be a safe investment with growth prospects. But then the 2008 crash happened. I saw Nova trading at a dirt cheap price, and I thought to myself "Why are they selling off Nova?" However, I was too frozen with fear to do anything and it didn't take long for the shares to move up smartly after the day of crash. I was kicking myself for a long time after that. I hope there is a lesson to be learned from that experience for eveyone including myself.

You're right. I was thinking of October 19, 1987 (Black Monday). which doesn't seem like it was 31 years ago because I remember the details so well like where I was and the brokerage I was dealing with at the time (Bache). They're not around anymore either.

However, you could have pointed out my error in a more courteous way. You are a very rude person and I'm putting you on ignore.
