RE:Any news on the 2% jump today?I am wondering about traders who use algorithims to undertake trades: The action came the day after ALA announced next quarter earnings date of October 28th.
So if other periods before ER announcements lead to a rise and a beat then perhaps the algos on the short side start to close and the longs buy back in. No evidence for this but I wonder... There could always be some activity that got leaked but so far nothing public. Rembermber it was 26.92 earlier this year so a good report even in the weak quarter may return us toward that level a sit is still significantly underpriced on a fundamental basis.. I think I will go back and look at SP behaviour after earnings date announcements just out of curiosity...
