Just say'in

For those advocating buying AQN vs ALA  I note that today ALA is up on a red day by 1.5% and AQN is down by 2.68%

One day doth not a summer make  but for my money looking forward I see more upside in ALA than AQN...

Totally agree with you : On 2019  Ebitda basis /share AQN - $ 839 M/ 524 M sh=$ 1,60 ALA -$ 1 271 M/ 276 M sh $ 4,60 Plain and simple AQN way over value !

I can give you 900 million reasons why I  think Aqn is not overvalued.  I own both for different treasons. Aqn will be continuing to expand into the renewables which I see 5-10 years down the road as the place to be.  Ala was just poorly treaty by the market and has underperformed as far as sp is concerned. I think this economic catastrophy will put ALA back on the map as a " ...more

So totally disagree. AQN is a way, way better company. The reason it was down today was that they just did a bought deal at $17.10. I'm very confident that AQN will be above $19 in the next couple months.  Also, AQN is a pure utility with renewables so it is in favour.. It's not the hodge-podge of midstream-utility that ALA is. As an aside, my wife & I have held AQN since Nov ...more

I forgot to mention that AQN just raised their divy by 10%, A tad better than a 56% cut if I don't mind saying.  :-)

Issuing equity to crank the dividend sounds like the old Altagas way.

Just plain too funny!! AQN doesn't have a Harris nor Cornhole. They actually have very good management. If you read the previous article I posted, the dough is most likely for an another terrific acquistion like all the AQN acquisitions are. No WGL for them.   :-)
Comment by Capharnaum on Jul 09, 2020 6:59pm
If they reduced their dividend, then they could make acquisitions without diluting shareholders.

AQN had a $500 million share offering at $17.10 vs.the previous day's close of $17.50. That's why it was down yesterday. After yesterday's weakness, AQN is up 1.9% today as I write this at $17.38. I hope some of you picked up some shares yesterday which you could have had below $17.00 for a while. If not, don't kick yourself because it is still a buy at the present market price. I ...more

For those keeping score, AQN closed at $17.62 up 3.28% while ALA closed at $15.96 up 2.37%. AQN definitely outperformed ALA today.
