Just a side line waiting for the refineryIf anyone is interested Golden Cross Resources in Australia tonight came out with their airborne survey of Nuiklavik and Notalwanon.
The GCR-Altius joint venture has completed the airbourne radiometric and magnetic surveys over the previously unexplored Nuikavik and Notakwanon properties in eastern Labrador, Canada. These properties contain highly radioactive outcrops, with up to 1.8% U3O8 reported by government geologists following regional mapping in the 1980's. The geological setting is similar to the Streltsovka Caldera in eastern Russia, host to 20 large uranium deposits.
The magnetic data reveals structures and layers within the Nuiklavik caldera and clearly defines the boundry between the Nain Plutonic Suite and the later Nuiklavik peralkline volcanic rocks. At Notakwanon, structures and favourable contact zones are well defined and coincide with intense total count radiometric anomalies. Data is available for the central zone only, as adverse weather conditions prevented flying of the outlying zones,
The radiometric data, as expected, has yielded multiple anomalies from the total count channel within each property. Uranium and thorium channel data is still being processed. The anomalies of over 1,400 counts per second, occur both as point sources and as broad zones of up to 1.5 km across.
Preliminary plots are attached for Nuiklavik and Notakwanon. Final data delivery is eagerly awaited.
