Although I believe the C suite did a great job managing a very challenging time - having sold the UDC portfolio at a very opportune time to fortify the balance sheet - I agree with your point, significant bonuses and/or wage increases given the unit price decay and flat distribution would lead me to think these individuals should not see anything descretionary beyond inflation. With respect to employees outside of C suite, as owners we must pay market to retain talent.

The Trust has acted ultra conservatively, which I appreciate, acknowledge and have balanced with more agressive REITs given my personal risk preference by not buying back units AND not increasing distribution. That said, the same level of capital conservation should be applied to the C suite who CHOOSES our course of action. Employees who have no power in decision making should not be viewed in the same way, imho.
