RE:RE:Cote article

RE:RE:Cote article Are you awake?  Do you have any idea of the potential legal exposure such a vehicle manufacturer would have if they didn't provide for human intervention?

We take you now to a Courtroom near you:
Plaintiff's Attorney is questioning CEO of "Autonomous Mining Motors"
Plaintiff's Attorney:  "Why did your firm never provide for human intervention of your vehicles' operation in case of some unexpected set of circumstances such as this one in which a dozen miners were killed?
CEO : "Our engineers told us it wasn't necessary, they'd thought of every possible situation and had programmed our vehicles accordingly."
Plaintiff's Attorney: "If a human had been able to intervene, based on the experience necessary of a human operator of a vehicle such as the autonomous one that killed a dozen miners, could this tragedy have been avoided?  And I remind you, Sir, you are under oath."
CEO: "Yes, a human driver would not have made such a mistake."
Plaintiff's Attorney:  "No further questions, Your Honour."
( jury of 12 brain-dead amoebas retires to consider ... returns in 2 minutes. )
Presiding Judge: "Has the jury reached a verdict?"
12 brain-dead amoebas jury Foreman: "We have, Your Honour."
Presiding Judge: "And your verdict?"
12 brain-dead amoebas jury Foreman: "We find the Defendant "Guilty" on all counts and implore Your Honour to throw the book at Defendant."
CEO to Administrative Admin: "Get our Bankruptcy Barristers on the horn."

Let us hope something such as this doesn't happen to Argonaut.  I doubt it will but...
'ya just never know!
