MVC, located in Chile, has a long-term contract with the El Teniente Division (DET) of Corporacion Nacional del Cobre de Chile (Codelco) to process fresh and historic tailings from El Teniente. The Company operates in one segment, the production of copper concentrates under a tolling agreement with DET.

According to NASA FIRMS, the fires appear to be more to the south of MVC. There is some fire indication right at the location of El Teniente mine though. But I assume that this is not a fire but a thermal anomaly or other type of artifact caused by the mining operation:
