Aris Plan

I am a shareholder of Aris, listened to their corporate plan months ago, and as a result became a shareholder.  Management is second to none!  Their plan is to add production over time by increasing the efficiency of their mining operations but also look to acquiring additional production through acquistion and mergers.  On that note, SOMA, as mentioned in a previous post may be a candidate for acquisition.  Can anyone comment on that thought.

I have often mused about Aris buying Soma out.  After all, Ian Telfer loves to deal, acquire and merge.  Soma's southern end of their property is 20 km (12 miles ) north of the Segovia property.  Both mines on on the same trend and mining high grade gold.  Aris would get 36k ounces of Gold production for 2023 with an expanding production profile, at an AISC of US$890.  ...more

It's too small a deal for management. They are trying to bring on a 500k ounce per year mine, not a 30k one. It could be accreditive at the right price, I don't hate that deal. Maybe too big a premium given all the no premium deals in the gold sector lately. Given its shares, 10 to 1 or 12 to 1 would make more sense since ARIS has more upside than SOMA. Unbiased opinion here, unlike you I ...more

Comparables to Soma are Mako (MKO.V) and Steppe Gold (STGO.TO).  Both are small but growing miners.  However, Mako's market cap is 3X and Steppe Gold is 4X that of Soma.  Therein lies the opportunity. Bringing up Soma here is not disinformation.  It's another investment idea for investors to consider.  It both operates in the same country and very near Aris Mining ...more

Not really. The way they build endevaour they were selling or getting rid off small assets and concentrating on larger assets. I expect similar approach. Little chance of Soma acquistion. It is too small. To be honest lots of disinformation on the board and twisting the strategy Aris has chosen in order to promote Soma.
