Any idea why the share price is spiking into the close? Up 10% from this morning.

Some Whale just hammered the bid for the last 10 minutes of trade.  I think they scooped up 1.5 million shares in that time frame.  The shorts playing with the stock for the last week just got bent over big time.  This Whale didn't even have the courtesy of using lubricant. If I were short, this weekend would be a very long one.  Aris stock will be lighting up buy programs

Correction, it looks like it was a 1.4 million share buy on close order.  Someone wanted the stock and they didn't seem to care what the price they paid.  Interesting.....

It couldn't be a takeout. Maybe an upgrade or addition to some index? When does GDXJ rebalance? Is ARIS part of the index?

Window dressing . Same on asm, aya, dsv, dv, exn ....etc etc..  With possible also squezze

So did some digging and GDXJ likely did rebalance today. That's what it looks like, huge bids at the Friday close around the 16th of the month, last month of the quarter.

That would explain why the buyer had no regard for purchasing shares near the high of the day.  It seems to me that market makers began to goose the stock higher in the last hour of the day. Anyone know of any GDXJ components with heavy sell order volume today?  We should be able to see both buy and sell side examples if there was a rebalancing. Today was a solid positive for the stock

how come eqx did not spike too if aris is "baby eqx" as Brioche claims? only additions to gdxj was filo mining and tietto minerals, with 4 deletions. https://marketvector.com/reviews/hard-asset

It wasn't an addition to the index, they just added since they are underweight. Don't get too excited, the last time I saw this happen the stock in question tanked the next trading day.

Not a significant move imo. The price has averaged around $3.40 for the past 6 months with numerous moves to $3.80. This company has scared away investors by putting toroparu on hold. Uncertainty equals no buying until there is clarity. Let's see it back at $6 where it was 8 months ago. It's up to management.
