Hard to blame this government for the treaty failures of the past governments and yeah it is hard to know who to negotiate with for all concerned. All I can say is ENB stuffed a line 3 replacement through with little to no government help and very little in the way of cost or time overruns.
Environmentalists are a pain in the ??? but they are also the Yin in the Yang. They are trying to make a better world or save a good one and together with the lefty leaning govenrment they are trying keep big oil from setting fire to world in order to heat the globe. Being warm is good until you're too warm and then what? Burn it some more to cool it? It sounds ridiculous but it also seems to be what we are doing.
What did the carbon tax ever do for the environment? It looks like it just bought a giga battery plant in St. Thomas. Will EVs help the environment? Debateable but it looks like we are going to have more than just a debate about it so I guess we'll see. I know that plant is probably going to be heated wih NG in the winter and NG seems to be where your and my venn diagrams intersect as I think its the bridge to the future of energy and with a tweak here and there could be the very future we are looking for and it is part of the present that we are both invested in with this great stock.

Environmentalists are a pain in the ??? with their constant legal fights which only serve to slow things. First nations, who do you negotiate with? They elect chiefs who say yes, then the hereditary chiefs say no and then individual tribe members hired by environmentalists to set up road blocks and cause damage.
Does not help when the PM is on the side of extreme environmentalists.
Tell me what has the carbon tax done for the environment? It is a tax used to redistribute money from the middle class the the rich and give money to the poor and goverment. IMHO

It is also not the government's fault the Coastal Gas Link pipeline is overbudget by more than double.
Even though I support LNG construction and increasing NG sales the government is not entirely wrong about its economic viability given low historic gas prices and should leave it to private industry.
ARX will take advantage of the opportunities provided by Gulf or West coast LNG as they arise.
