Crucial options and much needed for those who want to survive & compete on a level playing field for the next decade! The smart & perceptive ones are doing it on a regular basis when some "good" deals show up and are VERY accretive for their own companies. Super sizing is KEY for these Canadian operations for the future. Either you're an aggressive acquirer or willing seller, and if neither, you're eventually forgetten and just slowly fade away.... one way or another.
"The obvious company that would be a great match for ARC is NVA."
Yes.....correct....Nuvista is ONE of the names i was referring to along with one or two others. It's a good fit with Arc, the only questions remaining are, is it cheap & big enough for Arc mgmt and is Nuvista a willing seller? Because for the latter, Nuvista is one of those few companies which can swing either way.....as an acquirer or seller. Same goes for Paramount btw. And i'm still perplexed WHY these two still havent merged just yet! Quite confusing honestly and which lead me to believe that they're also considering an exit strategy as well.
The other name is of course Birchcliff, which would fit nicely with Arc's objectives and M&A strategies. But it has the same issue as Nuvista does, which is size. Don't know if Birch is BIG enough for Arc to be interested in them.....as it's the case for Nuvista. On the other hand Paramount is.....most definitely.....BUT they aren't as cheap to acquirer as those other two. With Birch being THE cheapest acquisition they can make!
So this will be VERY interesting to see where Arc mgmt go with this, as i FULLY expect them ot make a move on the M&A front sometime THIS year. The only question left in my mind is WHO?
