Sounds good. I bought 1000 more on the huge dump so have 3000 now.  Will let it settle down and add slowly over time. I'd like to build it up to 10k shares by year end and then sit on it.  My cost is $1 US so a little underwater but no worries. I'll double my money at least over time

Look at New Gold....NGD....over the next 2 years they intend to increase gold production 35% and copper production 60% while cutting their AISC by a whopping 50%  Their margins and profits will explode to the upside and none of this is in the stock price now.  I'm hoping it drops to $1 US or less so I can add more. I really like the copper / gold plays. Trolius is my main holding ...more

A few observations re. NGD.   According to their Financial Statements as at Dec. 31, 2023:   Balance Sheet:  Current Liquid Assets (Cash + Receivables + Investments) = $209M Current Liabilities (Payables) = $229M I  like to see short-term liquid assets at least 1.5x short-term debt obligations.   Debt to Equity Ratio: 1.90 (should ideally be no more ...more

Not the full story. They had a devil of a time with Rainy River but all of that is behind them now. They had a good quarter just now and outlined how all the capital investment is nearing completion.  Do the math on 35% increase in gold and 60% increase in copper driving their AISC down 50%!  It's a massive turnaround story.  You don't buy stock for what something did, you ...more

600k gold equivilent ounces at AISC of $700...steady state.  If gold is 2300 or 2500 or 3000 in 3 years the math on this is insane. Free cash flow goes up by a minimum 5x at current gold price.  These guys fixed a disaster and have beaten guidance doing so for 5 straight quarters.  They know what they're doing.  This is a 2 year hold or so. There won't be any big ...more

Could happen as planned with a resulting pop in the share price, but too many moving parts and too much debt for my liking. Excessive debt is a deal-breaker for me regardless of when it's due as interest paid on that debt continues to accumulate and renewal rates are unpredictable, especially if the company's credit rating is not investment grade.

Free cash flow goes through the roof if they're even half successful with their plan. They can pay it all down. This isn't a debt laden going nowhere outfit.  They have exceptional growth with explosive margins. If they were a steady state miner barely servicing debt then I'd agree with you but you don't find gold miners increasing production 35% and copper production 60 ...more

Can you name a current producer with this kind of growth?  Their two deposits are not mysteries they are well defined. I don't see what moving parts there are. They sunk a ton of money into expansion and are now reaping the rewards which only get better over the next 2 to 3 years.  I can't bet too heavily on any development project...they have way more uncertainty. I want one ...more
