So here is an example how these wash traders operate. Most of half million shares is gone from ASK side at 52 and the wash traders throw a bone to themselves @51 cents.

99% sure these accounts are run by the wash traders.

This stock is not .60 only because no one is willing to buy for that price. Low volume for what is currently a speculation play. Nothing unusual here. Let's see what happens on May 5th.

Also try these two links to get you started on how the tsx functions and the role of market makers. Market maker activity might explain a lot of your "wash trading" transactions in a less conspiratorial way. if it doesn't help, it might at least help you sleep. The two articles talk about two very different cases of misconduct, that have little to nothing to do with the alleged manipulation of ATH stock… The first article “Why did RBC abruptly change its strategy and settle CFTC's 'wash trading' suit?” pertains to RBC employees using derivative trades to basically move assets around between various Canadian and offshore accounts as a way to ...more

Was just making the point that banks, oil companies, ect have all been caught manipulating shares of companies. The regulations and regulatory body in Canada are particularly weak. So when he complaints of wash trading, there is a good chance it is happening. What he has to remember, is the these same companies will manipulate the stock up if fundamentals are in place.  Pengrowth is a good ...more
