More on 2017 results
Interesting that their news release of 2017 makes no mention of the results in terms of figures, but refers the reader to the website.  They also announce that as a consequence of the pending acquisition by Motorola Solutions, there will be no conference call.

It appears that they are trying to hide good results.  Here are a few excepts.

In the year ended December 31, 2017, we had revenue of $408.6 million, which was a 16% increase over the same period in 2016.

In the year ended December 31, 2017, we had gross profit of $211.0 million, which was a 15% increase over the same period in 2016.

In the year ended December 31, 2017, we had Adjusted EBITDA of $81.4 million, which was a $27.0 million increase over the same period in 2016. The increase was primarily driven by our increased operating leverage from previous investments and gains in revenue and gross profit.

We had 1,181 full-time personnel as at December 31, 2017, compared to 1,210 full-time personnel on December 31, 2016.

During the year ended December 31, 2017, we announced Avigilon Blue, our new subscription-based cloud service platform for security and surveillance, powered by Microsoft Azure. The Avigilon Blue platform is designed to enable Resellers and end-users to access an expanding selection of subscription service offerings, starting with video surveillance and video analytics.

On the innovation front, we also introduced several new products in 2017, including:

ACC Edge Solution Analytics Appliance - provides server capability, video storage, network switch connectivity, and Avigilon self-learning video analytics to many non-analytic connected video streams, IP cameras, and encoders.

• ACC 6 software with Avigilon Appearance Search technology - a sophisticated deep learning artificial intelligence search engine that sorts through hours of footage to help locate certain people and vehicles. Further, we released the addition of faces to our Avigilon Appearance Search technology which incorporates the unique characteristics of a person’s face to quickly locate a specific person of interest across an entire site.

HDSM SmartCodec technology - new technology which dramatically reduces camera bandwidth, maintains exceptional image quality and lowers storage requirements.

Expanded H4 SL camera line - new indoor and outdoor variants of the camera line.

H4 Mini Dome camera line - our smallest H4 camera provides an innovative patent-pending modular design that allows customers to switch between surface and in-ceiling mounts.

H4 Thermal camera line - a new camera line that includes thermal technology designed to detectpeople and vehicles in areas with poor visibility.

Avigilon Presence Detector sensor - a sensor that combines Avigilon self-learning analytics with impulse radar technology to help detect people even if they have stopped moving or are hidden.

ACM system with Biometric Integration - integration of ACM with ViRDI biometric authentication which offers an additional layer of identification to our access control solutions.

H4 IR PTZ camera line - a new camera line that combines Avigilon self-learning analytics with zoomable infrared technology to provide broad coverage and exceptional image quality in a range of lighting conditions and environments.

As at December 31, 2017, Avigilon held 780 patent assets (inclusive of design rights) globally.

That seems impressive.  Q4 2017 to Q4 2016 is even more impressive.

This company continues to have increasing value.
