IM NOT BEARISH ON REITS PERSAYBut as Scrooge also understands, REITS are not real estate assets on yonge street to the market, or other prized locations. They are "paper" securities to be shorted at will and take your cash....and this happens effortlessly when some things like portfolio management, gas, insurance, food etc etc just goes up more than the accepted tolerated incrase by the fed, even though its just capitalism at work. if you can charge 5% hikes as a business and get away with it, well, what should that have to do with a building at the corner of yonge an eg. but thats the narrative theyre shoving down our throat and using it to take our hard earned $$!
