Us jobs number

The US  employment level is lower today than in June and each month thereafter. The household survey has shown 3 consecutive months of declines in employment. If the declines in employment continue at the same rate as they have for the last 3 months then unemployment will reach 4%. The worst case scenario would be a rise in the civilian labour force and a decrease in employment. In this case the unemployment level could reach 4.1% +.

Jay Powell desperately needs a reason to cut rates and I think an unemployment of 4% or higher will do just that.

Didnt a strong jobs number end of january basically initiate the move up in yields?

This is why cuts are being discussed and are now on the table. I don't think there would be much hesitation if we see a 4 handle.
