Strong Buy?All short term issues aside, I'd say the numbers make RIM a strong buy at these levels. Looking at the Q1 financial report.
- almost $6/sh in cash on the balance sheet.
- net income (unadjusted) of $1.38/sh which conservatively projects to ~$5.00/sh for the year. - PE of about 10 !!
- growing sales, income, and subscriber base
- no long term debt.
- stock price nearing technical support levels
- increasing subscriber base provides growing, stable source of cash flow (was 16.4% of revenue vs 13.2% last yr)
future catalysts
- release of Torch to other markets, (currently limited to US)
- increasing Torch sales and margin expansion when existing corporate and consumer owners upgrade
- release of "Black Pad" ?
- share repurchase plan will increase per share inincome
- increasing sales to non-American countries. A quick look at the news releases on the RIM website shows how active RIM is outside the US introducing new products and services
