I think that subscriber numbers are still as important. I say this because the larger the number the more likely app developers will develop for BB10. The numbers also indicate size of base where service revenue can be generated. I agree with you that the definition of subscriber base is changing because before a subscriber always ment that revenue was being collected from each subscriber, which is not the case anymore. 

You wrote (I don't think there will be many BIS BB10 phones as there isn't a need anymore)

I believe all BB10 phones that are not accessing the BES will be BIS since BIS is needed for BBM and maybe email. I think there will not be as large of a demand on the BIS servers in the future as more users migrate from legacy BB's since BB10's since BB10'S do not use data compression.  Any comments are welcome.
