RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: BBRY LATEST SHORT REPORT Pancho, the world of shorting has become very murky and what most people think is happening when a short sale occurs (ie locating shares to effect the sale first), does not. If a broker believes (and I use that term in the most sarcastic way) he can locate shares, he can sell short for a client. Then has three days to get the shares. Then, if there is a "fail to deliver" there are extensions. If there is a shortage of shares, one would think this would cause an immediate problem. However market makers, under the guise of "liquidity" are allowed to naked short and I fear that this is the root of the disconnect. It really is a very interesting game but it can not go on forever and when fundamentals are improving (as they are here) the shorts will try again and again to run the stock down in order to make their bet less painful but the market ultimately will be right.
Look back three and six months and see what the news was saying about this stock compared to today. That says it all.
If you want to do some further reading about modern short selling and its implications for companies, I posted this link to an academic paper on shorting on the UUU board some time ago and it definitely opens one's eyes: https://www.stockhouse.com/bullboards/messagedetail.aspx?s=UUU&t=LIST&m=32052927&l=0&pd=0&r=0
