Goolge felt it at the beginning but they just let it go, thinking Android might not even being alive two years down the road and they were lucky that it did survive to now with a lot of big issues hassling everyone. It's JAVA, a language that need support by a virtual machine at runtime, even though they reinvented a DVM instead of JVM, it's still JAVA, old age tool for big servers and PCs, a language that is 100 times slower and worse in resource efficiency than C++. And financially it's not a money maker for them.
Google know it when QNX is annonced as the OS for Blackberry 10 devices. Another guy switched from JAVA to C++! They just silently plan to correct this ASAP.
Google says, now we have Chrome (a system not have anything to do with JAVA)! When they release the first chrome phone next summer, what does it mean to Android? We'll find out by then,,,
And that's actually the real time Google entered the game play, 14 months from now.
Android will be kid's toys by then, good luck Samsung. Even Google is saying the support for Android will continue, you know :)
Just imagine what could and would happen to QNX in 14 months.
