Shareholders, media, analysts and even carriers were all in agreement that in order for Blackberry to compete with Apple and Samsung and eventually survive they would have to release an all touch screen phone. Heins was brought in to make this happen. Unfortunaely, the real issue is it took too long to come to market. In hindsightthe Q10 would have been better only because the majority of existing users would have upgraded to Q10. I thinks the thinking was that BB had to get back customers new and old with a touch screen phone. Same thing is happening all over again. Media, and analyst and even some shareholders have convinced Heins to drop his 3 phase plan after just 2 quarters to seek a buyout or strategic alternatives.
