Number of Licenses per vehicleis the better question. Once you know how many computers are in a vehicle then you can determine the number of seats and package the licensing fee into a real number.
For example, the vehicle needs a license to run the software so QNX sells a license, now dependant upon the sophisication of the vehicles computational needs, brakes, fuel, entertainment, communication, lighting, pitch/yaw, pressures, video, audio, suspension, chamelion paint scheme shifter, outboard lighting package, toilet paper dispenser... each of these sub processes if they use a computer from the component supplier then that computer will require a seat to communitcate to the master.
So let's say the license is $10 and a seat is $3 and a basic vehicle has 7 computers today that license cost is $28. The Bentley with rear seat computers to recline into the 24" deep spa adds 12 computers so add $36 more dollars for the licensing or seats (no pun intended)
QMX is a horizontal platform that acts like an expansion slot, slot. Most of the speak is on entertainment but rest assurred the entire vehicle like a nuclear plant must communicate as one.
