Let's hope this increase translates into an increase in device sales in the upcoming quarter. If Blackberry can maintain the ASP of last quarter and also increase device sales; it will bode very well for us.
I'm staying realistic and not getting my hopes up like the last few quarters. Blackberry has produced great numbers except on the revenue side. Until they can show an increase in revenue, the market will continue to treat us like dogs. Also, we'll continued to get played by the "big boys" whereby they "yo-yo" the SP over and over and over again.
I would love to see a nice increase in device sales and an increase in revenues too, but I'm not holding my breath this time and I'm lowering my expectations until Chen and company can show me otherwise.
That said, I haven't reduced my position and I'm holding LONG.
Much longer than I initially had thought I'd have to, but patience is the name of the game and there are a lot of different ways Blackberry can make money now with all of the solutions and services they provide.
Obviously the PRIV being priced at $419 US is helping to generate sales on Amazon as it's been on the Top 100 Unlocked devices list for about two weeks now.
And on Ebay it's even cheaper!
Blackberry PRIV on Amazon.com link ($419) Blackberry PRIV on Ebay for ONLY $379 US link I think Blackberry has found a sweet spot at this price and if they reduced their prices on ShopBlackberry to the same levels they'll drive sales even further. Unfortunately this would likely have a negative affect on ASP, so I guess we'll see how this plays out in the coming weeks.
