I'm thinking that both OS will be loaded. One zipped the other in use. At restart you will select which OS you wish to use. Once you make the selection the unused OS will be zipped. When restarting again it will default to the last OS in use. This way the Root of trust is not disrupted at boot up. Very simple and should be bug free. I'm sure BB eng could do this very easily considering that they were able to make Android secure when Google could not.
