Nellybb,

In case you want to get a clickable link, instead of just the plain text of a URL in a post on this board and you can't because the toolbar doesn't show up, for example because you are using a smartphone, you can simply do the following:

  1. Start by typing: [url=
  2. Then copy and paste the link directly behind this
  3. Next type ]
  4. Now you can either copy and paste the same link once again and the clickable link will look exactly like the URL itself... OR... you can give it another alternative name, this could be anything, including another URL (which would be misleading)
  5. Finally type directly behind this the following: [/url]

So to illustrate what I mean I shall give 2 examples (note that I am using uxl in these examples, although you need to use url instead, but I am just doing this now to prevent it from showing up as a clickable link, for then you wouldn't be able to see the way it has to be constructed)

Example 1: here you give the link the same name as the actual URL itself, so you just paste the same link twice

[uxl=www.blackberry.com]www.blackberry.com[/uxl]

In red is what you should type yourself
Green is the link you copy and paste twice

Typing the same with url instead of uxl would produce the following result (hopefuly it still works because I already wanted to tell you this last year):

www.blackberry.com

PS Just maybe it's also possible to just leave the second part away if you want to use the same name for the link that you're using, in that case you would get:

[uxl=www.blackberry.com][/uxl]

I shall try it out here to see what we get, if a link with the name www.blackberry.com shows up then you can leave the second part out, if it doesn't show up, you shall have to paste it twice:

Example 2: here you give the link another name, so you first paste the link again, but then you type (or copy & paste) another name for the clickable link

[uxl=www.blackberry.com]JUST TYPE YOUR ALTERNATIVE TITLE HERE[/uxl]

In red is what you should type yourself
Green is the link you copy and paste
Black is the name you type or paste as a title for your link

Typing the same with url instead of uxl would produce the following result:

www.oprah.com

By the way, I hope you aren't color blind.

Ok, maybe this information is totally useless, for example because:
  • you find it way too much trouble typing the [url=, ], [/url] to get a clickable link
  • perhaps you already knew that it could be done this way
  • you just don't care that the links you provide aren't clickable
  • you find it useless because the person who pointed this out to you is a disgusting filthy rascist, who shouldn't be on this board (or on this planet for that matter) in the first place.
