The public already have concern for how Facebook use them, we certainly do not want more peeps aware of the corporate deception.  I am happy to keep them in the dark, heck c hen keeps me in the dark... let these leaders set their table at the expense of shareholders with enough information to make their own determinations.

Public awareness isn't necessary. If all is made public, FB future business and share value may be negatively affected by their actions. As a result, and in my deep dark space, it was in FB's best interest to keep this on the down low and hopefully compensate BlackBerry. Chen's agreed silence to the settlement doesn't prove anything to me, without that facts of the settlement I hope in the near future I do not end up floating in a bowl of congee.

The likelyhood the settlement involved large sums is pertinent to anyone invested or thinking of investing in BlackBerry.  Use, Damages and FRANDs are cumulative with the potential to be greater than the Market Capitalization of BlackBerry.

No, this facebook raid, the protracted legal dealings, one attempting to cobble unused, outside technologies to overcome was manipulation at to the nth degree, BlackBerry shareholders deserve to know the outcome to level dollars against damages incurred.

Here is hoping BlackBerry are delaying the outcome to include a publc reporting.

A side note: c hen and watsa had to renegotiate the latest debenture because of incredibly tangled relationship, one that had c hen receive a $144.8M Fired or Acquire Employment contract and a $330M debenture.

BlackBerry did not need cash prior to the debenture, it had $420M on hand.  So what was the cash needed for potential for a Facebook legal loss?  pay out the ceo and chairman?  Acquire another company and subsequent 40% right down of the dud... remember c hen stated 23 to 27% growth from Cylance that has yet to materialize, infact BlackBerry revenues are currently at the same level today as they were upon closing Cylance.

The secrecy surrounding c hen dealings are objectionable, at best he architect and engineered a solid turnaround however his leadership and revenue production is mushroom fuel.
