It takes 3-5 years before production begins and 4-7 years of production after. Last year QNX was installed in 20m new cars to reach 215m+ total. Where is the $$$ gonna come from. 20% from upfront during design phase and 80% from royalties when cars roll out of factory floors. Mind you QNX rev per unit is very low (cheap but good=market share). IVY will be different because it's a data collecting platform and it will generate recurring revenue throughout the life of the car. It's our game changer. But we have IVY because of our QNX. AWS picked us because they saw how many cars QNX was in, and OEMs & Tier 1 will pick IVY because they trust QNX team. JC doesn't build BB for short term gain but he wants his legacy to last. This is his last act. "Convergence" will happen just like the way JC visualizes it in his mind many years ago. Can you see it?
