***Saab GlobalEye on tests in France*** On April 8, French spotters published photos of the Saab GlobalEye early warning and command aircraft, which was most likely undergoing unspecified tests for the needs of the French armed forces.
According to available information, one of the finished units, currently bearing the civilian registration SE-RMV, was transferred from Linkping to the Mont-de-Marsan air base on April 1. In the following days, three flights were made, with a total time of over 14 hours. The plane returned to Linkping on April 5. According to available information, the used unit will soon be shipped to the United Arab Emirates.
It should be noted that the Mont-de-Marsan base is home to the Center d'Essais des Matriels Aronautiques testing facility. This, in turn, may mean that the French wanted to test the machine and its capabilities. This is due to the fact that, following the example of Great Britain, the United States or NATO, France is faced with a decision regarding the selection of a successor to the currently operated Boeing E-3F Sentry early warning and command aircraft (four units, deliveries of which began in 1991).
So far, Saab has received orders for seven GlobalEye aircraft - five of them will go to the United Arab Emirates (three of them have been delivered so far) and two to Sweden. The Swedish manufacturer also promoted its solution in the work on the successors of the E-3 Sentry in a joint NATO unit (the Boeing E-7A Wedgetail was ultimately chosen). https://zbiam.pl/saab-globaleye-na-testach-we-francji/
