Could they
Announce a 1 for 5 share to prop up the price and have a lot fewer shares ? Would this not shoot the share price up ?

In my past experience reverse splits do not usually benefit shareholders, they end up in worse shape. The share price is beginning to move up nicely, once a dollar is reached, momentum will push the price up very quickly to the next level. If the company has the goods, a reverse split is the last thing you want.

god no.. reverse split is almost never a good thing..
