Debt Down - Rtn On Equity Up

Debt Down - Rtn On Equity Up

From The S&P Report on Bombardier.

This doesn't copy very well, but the numbers below read from left to right starting with the one year figure and ending with the longer term (9-year figure).

As you can see, the debt to capitalization ratio is gradually coming down - from 66.28% to 60.84% (which still too high, but better).

Also noteworthy is the improvement in the return on equity. Of course, these numbers change continually, and the industry outlook probably gets more weight than trends indicating this kind of improvement at specific companies.

Still, indications like this stand in stark contarst to suggestions Bombardier somehow lags competitors. You don't get to be ranked, "Most Improved Over The Past Five Years" two years in a row, by top industry sources by lagging the pack.

*Ratio Analysis (Average)

Net Margin 5.11 3.10 1.93 1.56

%LT Debt to Capitalization 60.84 61.45 64.47 66.28

% Return on Equity 39.50 20.07 12.26 8.01
